..BORN IN 1904 . Elizabeth Johnson grew up in a typical Italian, Roman Catholic family. She always had dreams of moving to California to become an actress, and she eventually made the long journey at the age of 20.Her beginnings in acting started slowly, as she was only able to capture a few background and extra roles for the first year or so that she was in California. Eventually, though, she would meet Rudolph "Rudy" Valentino and be swept off her feet in a passionate love affair. Little did Elizabeth know, Rudy's wife, Natacha Rambova, would also join them. During this time, Elizabeth continued to act, but spent most of her free time with the two as she explored her own sexuality.Moments after hearing the news that Rudy had died, Elizabeth spiraled into a deep depression and nearly took her own life. However, she'd been at the grand opening of the Hotel Cortez at that time, and before she was able to take another step, James Patrick March saved her and eventually asked her to marry him.
She did, but it was out of sadness. If she couldn't have Rudy, at least she'd be able to live a life of luxury and be surrounded by beauty. She's grown colder throughout her life for many reasons, but much of it comes down to a broken heart.
